Phyllis Ann DeVizio, (nee Zarra), July 18, 1946 - June 30, 2022, of Medford, NJ, formerly of Newark and Bloomfield, NJ, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her large loving family. Daughter of Nicolena "Maggie" 1917-2001 and Joseph "Benny" Zarra 1912-1986; Daughter-in-law of Lillian Boyle and James DeVizio; Wife of Robert J. DeVizio married September 10, 1966; Sister of Linda Treamont; Sister-in-law of Sharon DeVizio; Mother of Sheri, Felicia and Joseph DeVizio; Second Mother to Gary, Crissy and Lisa Treamont; Mother-in-law to Mark Kaminski, Stacy DeVizio and Michelle Ruiz; Grandmother of Autumn, Daphne, Joseph, Sophia, Jacob and Jameson; Bonus Grandmother to Oliva and Ava Great Grandmother of Ronan; Aunt to Donna Ciccolini, David Connolly, Joseph Heath, Rocco, Jennifer and Anthony Ciccolini, Jerry, Jason and Denielle Vitale, Dolores,Tina, Lisa and Danielle Jewel. Phyllis was born on a beautiful summer day to her adoring parents Maggie and Benny of 8th Avenue. She was a gentle child who shared an extremely close bond with her sister Linda. Phyllis enjoyed singing, dancing and Sunday dinner with the family. Her life was filled with love as she enjoyed her large extended family, always the life of the party she filled the room with her infectious laugh. Her outgoing personality gained her many nicknames such as Cannonball, Nickels, Cheeseball, Heat Miser, Phyllass and YoPhyll. Fortunate enough to marry her first and only love Bobby. She wanted to be Bobby's girl and she was. They fell in love as young teens and enjoyed a fairytale courtship that included bee hive hair and hanging out downtown. They married and started a family loving each other through thick and thin they celebrated 50 years of marriage in 2016 with their loving family and friends. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Friday, July 8, 2022, from 6-9PM, and again on Saturday, July 9, from 10-11AM, at the Mathis Funeral Home, 58 N. Main St., Medford, NJ. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, at 11AM, at the funeral home. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
