Earle Myers Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Earle Eugene Myers, age 91, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 15th surrounded by his family. Born on the family farm in Bridgeton, NJ and raised in Philadelphia, he later moved to Medford, NJ to raise a family with his wife Barbara and retired to Leisuretowne in 1997. He began his career as a precision silkscreen worker/film cutter and worked his way up to becoming the Vice President of DMG Inc.. As a young teen, he began building and flying model airplanes and later built his own home. He enjoyed spending time with his family, fixing cars, going to car shows, golfing, and skiing. He loved telling stories about cars and traveling and watching cowboys and golf on TV. In the 1960's he and Barbara joined a card club that met once a month. The group became close, supporting one another through life's ups and downs, traveling together and always laughing. He became a faithful member of the United Methodist Church in 1984, using his building skills to build stairs, traveled to the Red Bird Mission, assisted with the food pantry, used his skills as a film cutter to assist Barbara in preparing Sunday School posters and projects, ushered and counted the church offering in his head. Being retired in Leisuretowne did not slow Earle and Barbara down. They enjoyed the company of their friends and neighbors; going to the pool, started a bike club, went to dances and talent shows and joined both the history and golf clubs. They participated in Town Watch and raised funds for Deborah Hospital Foundation. He is survived by his daughters, Linda B. Willson (Harry A. III), Diane J. Nelson (Peter H. Esq.), Cynthia A. Atkins (Edward J. Atkins, dec'd) and Theresa D. Myers; loving grandfather of Jennifer Willson Eggert (David), Andrew Atkins (Jamie Marino), Barbara Atkins (Desmond Sommer), Christopher Atkins, and Joseph Travis (Rachael); great grandfather of Robert and Heaven Leigh Taylor, Raymond, Alexavier, Stoney and Korbyn Travis; great great grandfather of Clementine and Sophia; and his youngest brother Arden F. Myers. He is predeceased by his wife Barbara Mary Myers and his brother Donald E. Myers. Services are private.
