Herbert L. Boone

Browns Mills –Herbert L. Boone, 78, passed away Friday at home with his family by his side. A resident of Browns Mills since 1948, Mr. Boone and his family also loved to spend time at their home in Potter County, PA, enjoying the peace and tranquility of the area. Mr. Boone served his country as a Merchant Marine during WWII. He retired in 1995 from McGuire AFB, where he was a Boiler Plant Operator. He was an avid pilot, and mechanic in his spare time, a kind gentle-hearted man who would go out of his way for friends and family. Mr. Boone was a member of the Moose Lodge in Mt. Holly, the NRA, Maple Shade Sportsman Association, and loved surf fishing, camping, boating and occasional trips to Atlantic City.

Predeceased by a his beloved wife, Doris E. Boone, two sons, Herbert L. and Richard G. Boone, and his siblings, George and Horace Boone, Mildred Rhoades, Anna Boles, and Dee Larson; he is survived by two sons and a daughter and their spouses, Robert W. Boone and Barb of Browns Mills, Bruce G. Boone and Jayne of Westampton, Doris E. Boone-Carney and Kevin of Browns Mills; four grandchildren Heather, Jessica, Dustin, Amanda; a daughter-in-law Frances E. Hohl-Boone; a brother Richard Boone of FL; and several nieces and nephews including Billy Roberts, Carolyn Lange, Beverly Roberts, Ronnie Roberts, and many close and special friends.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 AM at Moore Funeral Home, 371 Lakehurst Road, Browns Mills, where friends are invited to call from 9 AM until the time of the service. Interment will follow in at George Washington Memorial Park, Plymouth Meeting, PA. Arrangements by Moore Funeral Home, 371 Lakehurst Road, Browns Mills, NJ. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Boone’s memory to Samaritan Hospice, 5 Eves Drive, Marlton, NJ 08053.
