Patrick J. Dunn, Sr.
Lyons Patrick J. Dunn, Sr., age 70, died peacefully on Sunday, February 15, at Lyons VA Medical Center after a long struggle with Multiple Sclerosis. Born and raised in North Plainfield, he also resided in Bridgewater and Somerville, prior to his hospitalization at Lyons 17 years ago. Pat owned Dunns Creative Picture Framing in Somerville until the mid 1970s. He was also an artist. His love for painting older homes gained him recognition by a local paper for a series that he had done on historical homes located in Somerville. More memorable to his family were the fun cartoon depictions he drew of the people in his life. Pat was an avid Mets fan and he loved to play his guitar and listen to music. Despite his illness, he never lost his wonderful sense of humor. He was predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Dora Dunn, and a sister Nancy. Pat is survived by his daughter Diana Dunne and her husband Jack of Branchburg and their sons, Griffin and Connor; a daughter, Aileen of Lambertville; a son Patrick and wife Angelica of Middlesex and their children: Patrick, Amanda, Jamie, Taylor, and CJ; and a sister, Cecily Horak of Lake Hopatcong. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 19th at 4PM at Good Shepard Lutheran Church, 300 Union Ave., Somerville, NJ. When the weather is warm and the sun is setting quietly on the bay, his ashes will be put to rest in the waters by Barnegat Lighthouse. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Pats name to The Multiple Sclerosis Society, 1 Reed St., Philadelphia, PA, 19147. Arrangements are under the direction of Moore Funeral Home, Browns Mills, NJ. (www.moorefuneralhome.com) |
