Pemberton Twp. – Charles J. Gadsden, 75, of Pemberton Twp. was born on October 26, 1927 in Sumter, SC. He departed this life on Friday, June 13, 2003. As a child, he moved to Brooklyn, NY where he completed both grade school and high school. On August 27, 1959 he was united in holy matrimony with the late Dorothy Mae Gadsden (nee Archie) and were blessed with two daughters, Birdena Elois and Marcia Renee. Charles was a member of the United States Air Force and retired in 1968 as a Staff Sergeant. After retiring from the Air Force he worked for General Services Administration in maintenance. Charles leaves to cherish his memory his two daughters Birdena E. Drayton of Blackwood, NJ, and Marcia R. Jackson of Browns Mills, NJ; three grandchildren, Kenneth & Lynette Gadsden of Browns Mills, NJ and Dwayne Drayton of Blackwood, NJ; a son-in-law Byron Jackson of Browns Mills; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A Funeral Service will be held Thursday at 11:30am at the Moore Funeral Home, 371 Lakehurst Road, Browns Mills, NJ. Visitation will be from 10:30am until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the B.G.W.C.D. Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Arneytown.
