Dorothea Kastel

 Browns Mills – Dorothea Kastel, 80, of Browns Mills passed away Tuesday, May 6th at Samaritan Hospice at Virtua Memorial Hospital in Mount Holly.  Born in Frankfurt/Main, Germany, she was a resident of Browns Mills since 1966.  After WWII, she was employed by the Army Corps of Engineers at the American Consulate, in Germany, as a stenographer.  When she came to the United States she was employed by the German Consulate in New York.  Dorothea was a former member of the Women’s Auxiliary VFW Post 6805 and a member of the B.M.I.A..  She enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing, classical music and she was an avid reader.  Daughter of the late Wilhelm & Dorothea Baumgart and mother of the late Andrew H. Kastel;  she is survived by her husband George Kastel, Jr. of Browns Mills;  three sons and a daughter, William & wife Tracey of Venus, Texas, Dorothea and husband Steve of Boise, ID, Thomas & wife Robyn of Mount Holly, Patrick & wife Nora of Bethel, PA; daughter-in-law Ginger of Seaside, NJ; 10 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchilren.  Burial will be private.  Arrangements are by Moore Funeral Home, 371 Lakehurst Road, Browns Mills, NJ  08015.
